COVID-19 Updates

September 6, 2021 COVID-19 Update

Dear Panther Families,

In an effort to keep you as informed as possible, I am writing to you today to give you an update on our campus operations. As I stated previously, we may find the need to add mitigation measures back into our daily procedures in an attempt to keep our campus doors open for in-person learning in a mask optional but recommended environment. Due to the rising number of COVID cases in Yellowstone County, specifically in students, and the potential that blending students/staff has for multiple exposures, I have deemed it necessary to begin to cohort our staff and students once again.

What does this mean? It means that at any given time, there will only be 2-grade levels in one place at one time, i.e. recess and lunch. If exposure occurs, this significantly reduces the number of staff and/or students that must be quarantined.

This will change how we operate our MTSS program which includes our Walk – to – Read/Math programs. Our team is working on a plan to ensure that every student receives the individualized instructional path they need and deserve. We will be sending out program information after our Fall NWEA MAPS Assessments.

As we continue to navigate school during this pandemic, please remember to give yourself, your children, and their teachers grace. This year too will present difficult situations. There will be mistakes, problems, and concerns along the way. However, I look forward to the successes, happiness, laughter, and learning that we will continue to see with our students on campus.

Sincerely,

Melissa Schnitzmeier
