Dear Panther Families,
This afternoon, the Pioneer School District was notified that a student has tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Yellowstone County Health Department, the District’s staff and students were not in contact with the student during the period of possible exposure.
As this is the first positive case within our district, we felt it necessary to reach out and notify our families. However, moving forward, as positive cases arise a formal letter will not be issued. Instead, should any other student or staff member be deemed at risk of exposure, the Pioneer School Contact Tracing designee will be in contact with that person to determine a safe and appropriate course of action.
It is still recommended that any person, staff, or student, who feels sick or ill seek out their medical provider for specific instructions.
The School District is in contact with the Health Department and reviewing the Centers for Disease Control guidance to complete cleaning the school and other related facilities as necessary. School administration will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information if and when it becomes available.
Sincerely,
Melissa Schnitzmeier
