Principal's Message

DPHS Community Member,

This is the last week before our 9th and 10th grade students take the third and final Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (F.A.S.T.) Progress Monitoring Assessment (PM3) which runs March 3-5. PM3 provides a summative score at the end of the year to measure student mastery of the grade-level content standards as set out by the Florida Department of Education. As a reminder for our parents, results for F.A.S.T. assessments are reported in the Florida Reporting System within 24 hours of the students completing testing. DP parents will be able to quickly view their student's PM3 results through the Florida Reporting System available in the FAST portal - Instructions. If you have a freshman or sophomore in attendance this year, please be sure they are on-time for school March 3-5 following a good night's rest.

As we approach our annual spring testing period, I want to thank all of our teachers and members of the leadership team for their efforts since school began last August 12th. They have made a huge effort all year focusing on instruction. With added support from our parents/guardians at home, it is these dedicated teachers and leaders who make the difference preparing our Panthers for assessment by making sure they have been learning all along. The community should know that the teachers arrive on campus every morning prepared to make sure each of our students obtains a quality education during their time at DP.

Congratulations to our Lady Panthers Basketball team on their 74-41 defeat of Centennial High School last Friday evening as they have now earned a spot in the Final 4 round of this year's State Championship playoff series. They will play Miami-Dade County's Doral Academy Preparatory School (21-7) March 7 in Lakeland in the state semifinals.

Speaking of Panther sports, the weather forecast for this week looks to be pretty favorable over most days. Be sure to review the Panthers' schedule if you would like to get out for a little quality family time while enjoying some competitive games. We have an outstanding athletics department and this is a great time of year to take in some of the action!

Thank you for reading.

Dr. Phillips High School families,

OCPS is pleased to be able to provide a digital device to all students. We know that digital learning is critical to preparing

our students for future success, so we are sharing with you how important it is to protect the investment made in our

digital device program.

A new process has been developed in order to inform families when their student has reported or turned in a damaged

device accessory. Beginning in February, you will be notified by email if a fee is assessed for your student. The notice will

include the current assessed fee based off the published fee structure. The current fee structure can be found here. It

will also include instructions on how to make the payment associated with the repair or replacement.

Thank you for your support as this process is critical in protecting the Orange County taxpayers’ investment. If you have

any questions, please contact the school.
