2025-2026 Course Requests - We have begun our planning for the next school year, starting with student course requests. At this point, all Freshman and Sophomores should have met with their counselors one-on-one to discuss their course requests and graduation needs. Meetings with Juniors began this week, and we have visited all of our feeder middle schools as well. All course request forms can be found on our website at OlympiaHS.OCPS.net/CourseRequests

School Day SAT - Juniors, it’s time to start preparing for the School Day SAT on March 4th. This is a free opportunity to take the SAT during the school day. All Juniors are automatically signed up and will receive more testing information in late February. If you are looking to get more practice, Khan Academy is a free website that has Digital SAT practice.

Clash of the Titans: With another Beanstack victory this week, the freshmen are staying close to the seniors in this competition. The sophomores and juniors keep picking up a point or two here and there which is keeping the seniors from completely dominating. With three weeks left, any grade level can still claim victory.

Let’s Read, OCPS! - The Let’s Read, OCPS! Challenge is in full swing and continues until April 30, 2025. This district-wide reading challenge encourages everyone to read for enjoyment and help us reach our goal of logging 20 million minutes. Plus, there are $5000 worth of prizes up for grabs! Each student should aim to log at least 500 minutes in Beanstack. More information is available at read.ocps.net. Let’s read our way to victory!

Prom- This year’s Junior Senior Prom will be held at the Gaylord Palms.  Tickets are on sale now on TeachTix.com. Tickets are $110 for Olympia Juniors and Seniors $120 for guests. The last day to buy tickets is March 14th. Please keep in mind that this is before Spring Break. Guest forms are available in room 402, 427, and the front office.

SENIOR TO DO LIST:

May 1st is the day to make your final choice of where you are going to college next year.  Please make sure you are checking portals from each school to make sure you have everything complete.  Everything may include, proving you are a Florida resident, completing your FAFSA, applying for scholarships or honors programs, and sending in your confirmation payment.  Need help making a final choice, pop on down to your College and Career Center.

JUNIORS:

You have two big priorities right now, first is getting the best grades you can this semester as this is the last set of grades most colleges will see before accepting you. Second is preparing  for the SAT!  You want to do well as this test score can directly lead to scholarships.  You are automatically signed up for the SAT on campus on March 4th, it is also recommended that you go into your College Board account and sign up to take it on your own on a Saturday this spring.  One free study guide for SAT is Khan Academy.

March 24th on our campus from 12:30PM to 2 PM we have a College Fair happening in our media center for students.  We will have over 50 schools represented in our media center. All Juniors will all come down with your classes during that time.

Also note that College and Career Appointments are available now for Juniors to help with any questions.

Grad Bash- Tickets are $105 to pay for admission to two parks and transportation. Tickets are on sale at SchoolPay. Please note, Universal does not offer any discounts for Passholders or Employees to this event. Seniors cannot drive themselves. They MUST arrive with the school and leave with the school on our buses. They cannot arrive late, and you cannot leave early. If they miss the bus they forfeit the ticket with no refund. Seniors may only purchase a ticket if they have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.0 or higher and meet all attendance and discipline eligibility requirements. Refunds cannot be provided if they become ineligible before the event. If you are ineligible to attend, you will not be issued a ticket for entry, even if you purchase one online.

Tickets MUST be purchased before March 10. Tickets are non-refundable, so make sure you have the date available.
