Let me introduce myself: My name is Sydney Staples and I am a 5th grade teacher at Lake Stickney!

I have a passion for working with children and helping them grow into young adults who get involved and give back to their community. I enjoy teaching because there is an excitement, joy and suspense in the journey. To spend each day helping children unravel their uniqueness is the best job ever! Each of your students are their own world, and when all those worlds collide, magic happens. I am looking forward to creating magic in our (virtual) classroom this year.

A little about myself: In my free time, I play lots of competitive soccer. I am a fitness coach at a boutique gym in Bothell. I teach XFormer strength training classes on an XFormer machine (sort of like Pilates). I enjoy running, biking, kayaking, hiking, golfing, and singing. If the sun is out, you'll find me outside! I am a University of Washington alumni; Go Dawgs! 😊 I have a boxer dog named Dierks (he’s named after a country singer). I am getting married in 2021, so it's my last school year as Miss Staples! I love to stay active, so in our learning community, we are active learners, often using our hands and always using our minds!
