    Mill Valley Rec

    Canal Alliance provides the legal, educational and supportive services that immigrant families in Marin need to stabilize their lives and move towards economic stability. Middle School volunteers and groups are welcome, if accompanied by an adult. Contact Fernando Barreto at 415-454-2640.   City of Mill Valley Parks and Recreation Volunteer to enhance the quality of life in Mill Valley. Volunteer projects include special events and the clean up and beautification of our public spaces, and all tools are provided.     Homeward Bound
    Provides transitional and long term housing and support services for homeless families in Marin. Make a plan to participate with your group or family to make a meal at your home for 10-15 families and youth, & deliver it to San Rafael. Contact Andrea Rey 415-382-3363.
      Marin Audubon Society
    MAS is committed to education, conservation and restoration of Marin habitats for birds and wildlife. Make a plan with your group or family to restore habitat at the Redwoods, the tidal marsh at Triangle Marsh or the Corte Madera Ecological Reserve.     Middle school students can join community volunteer events, including coastal cleanups, listed on the events calendar online. All tools and supplies are provided, along with supervision and education. Often snacks/lunch are provided. Contact Greg Reza at 415-473-3378.

    Join other students from Marin middle schools in distributing food to families in need within our community at the Innocents Church. Contact Julie Torney at 415-461-5157.

    As part of a global youth community service movement started by Dr. Jane Goodall, MVMS students can join Roots & Shoots, which meets at Marin Humane and works on projects to benefit animals and the environment in Marin County and beyond. Students meet every other

      Become a school leader on healthy relationships, as a member of the MAYA (Marin Against Youth Abuse) Advisory Committee. Be trained as a peer resource on healthy relationships.     Mill Valley Public Library
    Become a library volunteer and perform a variety of functions that support the intellectual, cultural and recreational interests of our community. Activities include prepping for library programs, providing reading suggestions, and shelving books. Be part of a middle school advisory board, suggesting programs for tweens and teens.       Mountain Play
    Volunteers support the local Mill Valley arts community in continuing a long tradition of outdoor performance on Mt Tam. The Mountain Play brings the entire community together to celebrate story, music and theater. Volunteer positions vary. Seasonal: May and June.     Project Awareness And Special Sports (PAASS)
    Together with high and middle schoolers who work as mentors and coaches, PAASS works with students with developmental delays and learning challenges to teach the mechanics of sports and to develop lasting bonds and relationships. Volunteers are needed for many programs including baseball, soccer, tennis, summer camps, etc. Email PAASS.
      Tutor Corps Foundation
    The Tutor Corps Foundation supports students committed to making a sustainable impact in their community. Grants are awarded in the amount of $250, $500 and $750 for innovative projects that address community-based issues such as poverty, education, health or the environment. Deadlines for applications are
