Strawberry Point

 

             Welcome to 5th Grade! My name is Rachel Quek and I'm looking forward to a fantastic year ahead. I have taught In LA, San Francisco and now I am grateful to have the opportunity to teach at Strawberry Point. I have one child at MVMS in 7th grade and two children at Strawberry Point. I have one son in 5th grade and a son in 3rd grade. I have loved being a part of this school and am so lucky to be a member of the staff, as a teacher. 

 

            This year will be filled with tons of exciting activities like our trip to Walker Creek Ranch, our Valentines Etiquette Tea Party, and of course 5th Grade Graduation!  The 5th grade team has been working very hard all summer to make sure we are ready for the awesome task of preparing you for middle school. I look forward to meeting you and to a fabulous 5th grade year at Strawberry Point.

 

            Fifth grade includes lots of reading, writing, researching, and typing. So get excited to dive into all the great books we will read over the year and to learn how to navigate around the Macbook Pros and Google Drive. By the end of the year, you will be a professional in Keynote, iMovie, and creating strong written compositions using Google Docs. Additionally, you will be well versed in explaining and solving everyday/real life math situations.

 

           Most of all, you will be learning how to stay organized, how to collaborate, communicate, compromise, and create with a team of your peers, and how to struggle and persevere. I know this may seem like a lot right now, but all of the fifth grade teachers will help guide and teach you how to stay organized and prepared throughout the year.

 

Mr. Gasparini and I have been working hard to ensure you all have a successful year!
