Ms. Burgess is thrilled to be back at MBE after completing a portion of her student teaching here a few years ago. Ms. Burgess graduated from Samford University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Education. Originally from Orlando by way of Denver, Mary Brittan, her siblings, and her cousin have all migrated to Birmingham to Samford University.  Since 2021, she has served as the KIDS Director at Auburn Community Church and served in various leadership roles throughout her time at Samford. 3rd grade is Ms. Burgess' FAVORITE grade. She loves helping students to explore multiple different ways to multiply and divide numbers. While she loves to have her nails done, Ms. Burgess is also extremely passionate about college football. She takes pride in the fact that she can be both a "girly girl" and a "tom boy." When she is not at school, Ms. Burgess enjoys working out, walks, Dr. Pepper with sonic ice, naps and reading books.
