Kiesha LeRoux began her career in education teaching secondary English and Literature at Sherwood Middle Academic Magnet School, a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.  It was there she designed and managed a groundbreaking STEM program consisting of Computer Science, Robotics, Game Design, Web Design, and Digital Media Arts in partnership with several community stakeholders such as STEMup BR, LAWIT, and LSU's College of Education.  As a teacher, LeRoux served her school and district in a variety of capacities including as a member of the Technology Management, School Improvement, and Professional Development teams. In addition, she served as a Critical Friends Coach to support PLCs and teacher support networks for her district.

LeRoux then transitioned to a District Instructional Specialist reporting to the Executive Leadership Team supporting a Chromebook 1:1 roll-out involving over a dozen middle schools and 14,000+ devices.  In that role, she designed and delivered professional development for educators across the district to integrate Chromebooks and G Suite into the classroom effectively.  

She then served as a District Instructional Technology Facilitator for a district of over 86 schools with over 25,000+ student Chromebooks deployed in grades 4-12.  She collaborated with the Instructional Technology Team to draft district policy and guidelines and personally designed and lead several district-wide projects such as a highly successful campaign aimed at the increase of Google Certified Educators throughout the district.  LeRoux was also instrumental in the improvement and increase in district-wide communications by designing and implementing a variety of resources such as a team website, Tech Jam vlog, YouTube channel, district FAQ forum, and newsletters.

LeRoux also provided support at district-wide events as well as to a specific cohort of 15 secondary schools involving consultations, Google Bootcamps, professional development, conferences, developing resources, designing online courses, YouTube tutorials, and more.  That support was aimed at improving student success, streamlining workflows, and cutting costs through the support of various departments, school leaders, teachers, and students in technology integration from Pre-K to 12th grade. 

​LeRoux enjoys sharing her instructional technology knowledge, skills, and passion at a number of district, state, and international EdTech conferences.  She has presented at the International Society for Education (ISTE) and the Louisiana Association for Computer Using Educators (LACUE) numerous times as well and served as a keynote speaker.

This year LeRoux is excited to join the MBE faculty as the new Technology Coordinator.
