Mrs. Powell is going into her sixth year of teaching. Mrs. Powell received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood & Elementary Education from UAB. She recently went back and received her masters degree in Reading. Mrs. Powell is passionate about teaching kids the value of reading, as she believes that a good book can take you places. She is excited about providing an effective, engaging, and challenging education for all her students. She believes it is important to create a positive learning environment for her students while challenging them to reach their fullest potential. 

In her free time, Mrs. Powell likes to hang out with her husband Will and puppy Milo, read a good book, tend to her garden, or cheer on the crimson tide! Mrs. Powell is looking forward to a successful year!
