Missy is excited about starting a new year at Mountain Brook Elementary! She is a veteran educator with twenty-three years of experience. She is a native of Auburn, Alabama and graduated from Samford University in 1998 with a Bachelors degree and again in 2001 with a Masters degree in early childhood and elementary education. She is passionate about literacy, and reading is a favorite leisure activity, along with shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Missy's husband, Mark, grew up in the Birmingham area and is an accountant in Trussville. They have four amazing children, two sons and two daughters. Grant graduated from Auburn University in 2017 with a degree in architecture. He is currently working at an architecture firm in Birmingham. Griffin is also a 2017 graduate of Auburn University and is currently working to earn a PhD in medical research at the University of South Alabama. He is married to his beautiful wife, Anna, a medical student at the University of South Alabama. Emmy is a sophomore at Samford University. Go Bulldogs! Maddy is a senior at Hewitt Trussville High School, where she plays the clarinet in the marching band and Wind Ensemble. In addition, Missy has two chihuahuas, Ruby and Dave, who you will probably hear about on a regular basis. Her dream is to write a children's picture book about Dave, her rescue pup.

This will be such an exciting year, and Missy is looking forward to learning and growing with each and every student and parent!
