Mrs. Elizabeth Gwaltney

Elizabeth Gwaltney is one of Crestline Elementary's speech language pathologists. Mrs. Gwaltney works with both the Crestline Preschool students and elementary aged students. Mrs. Gwaltney was part of the Crestline family in a part time capacity for over five year before joining the staff full time beginning in the 2016-2017 school year. She has over 20 years of experience in the field of speech language pathology. Prior to joining Crestline, Mrs. Gwaltney worked in other elementary and preschool programs in the Birmingham area. She spent seven years as a speech language pathologist in early intervention, serving families with children ages birth-three at risk for developmental delays. She is passionate about collaboration and working as a team with parents, general and special educators, and other therapists to best serve children. Mrs. Gwaltney received her Bachelor's degree from Auburn University and her Master's degree from the University of Montevallo, both in the area of Communication Disorders. She is a member of of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Speech and Hearing Association of Alabama (SHAA). Mrs. Gwaltney has served on the Executive Board of SHAA since 2006. She is currently Immediate Past President and formerly served in other roles inclduing President, Vice President for Convention, Recording Secretary and Treasurer. She represents Alabama as the Speech Language Pathologist on ASHA's Committee of Ambassadors.
