Dual Immersion Application Process
Timeline: Applications for first round of acceptance letters closes February 15
Who Can Participate?
The DLI program seeks to enroll students of varying backgrounds and all abilities. While DLI instruction begins in first grade, children should apply during kindergarten registration. However, DLI programs may not be an appropriate education option for children experiencing significant communication delays in their primary language.
How do I apply for a DLI program?
The first round of the online application process for closes February 15. If more applications are received than available slots, selections will be made by lottery.
How does the waitlist work?
Applicants not selected via the lottery will be placed on a waitlist. If a DLI slot becomes available, the slot will be offered to the next person on the waitlist. Position on the waitlist is determined by the date and time of application.
What if I don’t live in the Logan City School District boundary?
Applicants that live outside of the Logan City School District are welcome and encouraged to apply.
How are students selected for the program?
The number of spaces available in each category is based on the schools enrollment capacity.
When the district receives more applications than available slots, there is a lottery process. In the lottery process, special considerations will be given to:
Students with parents that work on staff at the DLI school.
Students with siblings currently in the DLI program.
Students that speak, read and write the target language at an appropriate level of proficiency.
Students who are transferring from an out-of-district comparable DLI program.
