• Providence Elementary Student Drop Off and Pick-Up Policy

    We are asking that all patrons dropping their children off before school and coming to pick them up after school follow the policy as outlined below.

    Absolutely no parking on the north side of Center Street  during the following times:  

    Monday - Thursday
    Before School: 8:50 am - 9:15 am
    Kindergarten:  11:55 am - 12:40 pm
    After School:   3:20 pm - 3:50 pm 

    Friday
    Before School: 8:50 am - 9:15 am
    Kindergarten:  11:25 am - 12:10 pm
    After School:   2:05 pm - 2:35 pm 

    1. When entering the school property from the east (front of the school), cars need to remain in a single file line along the curb and continue single file until reaching the loading zone.
    2. Cars need to remain in a single file line, pulling forward to fill gaps, as other cars leave the loading zone area.  Pulling around other cars to get your child is not permitted.  Children will remain in the loading zone area until you arrive in the loading zone.
    3. Parents need to remain in their vehicle once they are in the school block on Center Street.  Parents that wish to park and walk to get their children need to park along 100 East or Main.  If you choose to park across the street from the main entrance, you MUST use the crosswalks, on the corners, to safely get your children to your car.
    4. All students (including Kindergarten students) will only be allowed to enter cars in the “student loading zone.” This zone will be clearly marked and is located near the front entrance of the school.
    5. Students must always enter vehicles only on the curb side of the loading zone.
    6. All other cars will continue pulling forward thereby filling any gaps left in the loading zone.
    7. Once students have been picked-up, vehicles may pull out and exit the loading zone.  Cars will leave the pick-up area by driving west.  “No U-Turns” will be enforced during after school pick-up times.
    8. We understand that this policy may not be convenient for all parents.  However, safety is our number one concern.  We believe that if all patrons abide by this policy we will have a smoother, safer, morning drop off and  afternoon pick up for ALL students.  We appreciate your efforts in following our safety policy.

    If you choose to park off school property and have your children use the crosswalks to meet you that is still an option.
