The purpose of a school system is to provide a rigorous and relevant education to all students through quality teaching and learning. The Joplin School District is committed to the continuous improvement of teaching practices and learning opportunities so all students have the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to be productive citizens.
K-12 Curriculum
The purpose of the Joplin Schools’ Curriculum course is to provide a framework for the alignment of written curriculum, resources, and tested curriculum. The curriculum framing templates provide structure to ensure quality educational design, delivery of the curriculum, approved resources, and common assessments to address the district’s mission and alignment with the strategic goals.
The frameworks convey the procedural intent of the district administrators and teachers with respect to curriculum development, curriculum adoption, implementation, collaborative reflection, and revision.
The continuous improvement will emphasize the analysis of a variety of student data from formative, summative, and growth assessments to drive instructional decisions and curriculum revisions.
