Principal's Message

Principal s pictureDear Dwyer Families,

I truly feel honored to be part of the Dwyer Middle School family.  Junior Oilers pride themselves on the rich history of our school and "Living and Learning with G R I T."  We are proud of our accomplishments in being recognized as a California Distinguished School and a California Gold Ribbon School, as well as having strong athletics and arts programs.  Our staff is dedicated to furthering our mission each day by providing rigorous academics, while also making sure students discover who they are as citizens in our ever-changing world.

We are so excited that you are all a part of G R I T! Gratitude, Responsibility, Integrity, and Tenacity are important core values that we follow at Dwyer. Our team of respected educators feels that these values are not only important for student life, but also for a successful future beyond Dwyer. Please ask your child about all the great things they can earn for showing G R I T!

Parents, this is a time in your child’s academic career where they may want you to step back.  However, it is so important that you stay involved and support your child as they learn to become more independent.  Ways that you can be actively involved at Dwyer are by joining the PTSA, attending school events and parent conferences, and most importantly, by talking to your child daily about what they are learning and doing at school.  While middle schoolers do need more independence, they still need structure and balance from all areas of their lives.

I look forward to working with all of the Junior Oiler community for many years to come.  Together we can do great things!

Sincerely,

Christa Glembocki
