• Greetings,

My name is Roy Dawkins, and I am the Assistant Principal of Houston County School. I
am blessed and excited to be part of the Houston County High School Family.
I am a native of Ozark, Alabama, as well as, a graduate of Carroll High School. Upon
graduating from high school, I attended Alabama State University in Montgomery,
Alabama where I earned my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Physical Education. I,
also, have a Master’s of Science Degree in Instructional Leadership and Administration
from Troy University, Dothan. This is my twenty-third year of service in education.
During my years as a professional educator and coach, I have been engaged with
students on all levels from elementary to college.
As the Assistant Principal of Houston County High School, I believe all children can learn
and succeed when given the opportunity to develop their strengths. Community
involvement is a key factor to success in all schools. Additionally, parents are always a
child’s first teacher. I believe building students into life-long learners is a priority. I look
forward to empowering the students and building relationships with parents,
    stakeholders, and the community.
    Go Lions!!

    Mr. Dawkins
