Health Science 2

Healthcare Science prepares students to provide healthcare services for the community.  The courses provide a solid foundation for a further education in a wide range of medical and health related careers, including:

• Doctor
• Nurse
• EMT
• Nursing Assistant
• Physical Therapist
• Physician Assistance
• Veterinarian
• X-ray Technician

Program Goals

The purpose of this program is to provide high school students with: 

• Introduction into the healthcare system
• Assistance in making career decisions
• Entry-level employment in a healthcare job
• Acceptance in a post-secondary healthcare program
• Develop students' leadership skills

Courses Offered:

Healthcare Science II:

• Students learn basic nursing skills (vital signs, bed making, and personal hygiene)
• Students become certified in Infant/Child CPR/1st Aid through American Red Cross
• Students will participate in a clinical setting at a healthcare facility for 4-6 weeks
