Backpack Blessings is a program to feed elementary school children whose families qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program and may not have enough food on the weekends.  The goal of this program is to keep these students from going humgry on the weekends and to remove barriers to academic success.  Research shows that healthy, well nourished children learn better, are more likely to attend school and are able to take advantage of educational opportunities.

Each week,we provide enough non-perishable food for the weekend (six meals) to "at risk" students.  These students will be referred by the teachers, administrators, faculty and staff.

Will you partner with us to ensure that every child in our school has enough to eat? You can help by picking up a few extra grocery items when you shop and then dropping off the items at our school.  A suggested list is on this page.  It is not meant to include every acceptable item, but it meant to give you an idea of what can be used.  Items cannot need refrigeration and need to be simple to prepare.  Unsure of what to buy?  Cash donations are accepted as well.
