I spent my elementary years at Hart Elementary in Hart, TX.  My junior high and high school years were spent in Hardin.  I graduated from Hardin High School in 1988.

While still in high school, I took evening and summer classes at Lee College.  After graduating from high school, I attended Stephen F. Austin State University for 2 years.  At that time, I transferred to Lamar University and graduated in 1992 with my teaching degree.

I am married to my best friend, Chad Barrett.  We have two grown sons.  Our oldest son, Bryce, is a middle school math teacher in a neighboring district. Our daughter-in-love works at the local hospital.  Our youngest son, Zachary, will be graduating from Stephen F. Austin University this next May and then he will pursue a Master's Degree program.

I began my teaching career in Dayton, TX at SFA Elementary, teaching 2nd grade Math and Science.  I stayed there for 2 years before having the privilege of staying home with my own children for eight years.  I was then asked to join the teaching staff of Hardin Elementary.  This will be my twentieth year teaching at Hardin Elementary.  I am looking forward to another awesome year!
