I am very excited to be teaching fourth grade this year in the JDL program.  I am looking forward to teaching your children many things and guiding their education using the Common Core standards set forth by the state of California.  The rigor of the curriculum will continue to increase in both English Language Arts and math.  In History-Social Science some of the topics that will be covered are missions, ranchos, the Mexican War for Independence, the gold rush and statehood, California as an agricultural and industrial power, and Local, State, and Federal Governments.  In science we will cover physical sciences, life sciences, and earth sciences (rocks, minerals, waves, wind, water, and ice).
