Hello Parents and Students,
I am Mr. Barocio, and I hope you are all doing well and are safe during this unique time in our lives. I am a new member of the Woodrow Wilson Middle School team. I am so excited and thrilled to be working with your child this school year. I have been in the field of education for the last six years with the Baldwin Park Unified School District as a high school and middle school Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) tutor and a substitute teacher. During the past three years, I have also worked at the CSULA Summer Reading Clinic during the summers teaching middle school students reading and writing skills. I have earned my Bachelor's degree in history with an option in teaching from California State University, Los Angeles in 2018, and my Single Subject teaching credential in Social Science recently this past May of 2020. On a personal note, I love to watch old classic Hollywood movies, hiking, biking, and eating delicious food. I am also very interested in studying different cultures and learning new things. I am excited to work with your child this school year and hope they come to appreciate the importance of history, why it matters, and why we study it. Parents and students, please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Best,
Mr. Barocio
