Bereavement Resources

  • Children’s Hospital Boston – Bereavement Program for Parents The Bereavement Program at Boston Children’s provides support and guidance to bereaved parents and family members following the death of a child. While grief is a normal response to loss, it can feel isolating and overwhelming. The program, located within the Hale Family Center for Families, provides the following services:

    • Information about grief
    • Seminars about what to expect when dealing with loss
    • Support groups
    • Memorial services and workshops

    Boston Medical Center – Good Grief Program for Families & Children The Good Grief Program at Boston Medical Center provides support to children and families at a time when they may feel most vulnerable: after a child has experienced a significant loss.

    The Children's Room The Children’s Room offers virtual and in-person grief support services for children and families at its Arlington Center, at schools, and at community organizations across the Greater Boston area. Services include peer support groups, parent groups, teen programs, and Family Night. Consultations and referrals are also provided.

    Jeff’s Place - Children’s Bereavement Center, Inc. Jeff’s Place helps children, teens, and families experience a healthy grieving process in a supportive environment. (34 Deloss St. Framingham 508-879-2800)

    Care Dimensions Children’s Bereavement Support Group Care Dimensions specializes in helping children mourn and cope with death – preparing them prior to the loss and supporting them after. Their children’s program provides emotional support to patients and families, and also supports children in the community. They offer one-to-one and family consultations, and host dedicated support groups for children and teens in a safe and calming atmosphere.

  • Parents Helping Parents Empowering parents to nurture children and build stronger families.

    Caregiving MetroWest Support Groups Numerous support groups that meet throughout the MetroWest region, ranging from groups dealing with general caregiving issues to others designed for people caring for loved ones suffering from specific ailments and illnesses.

    TEMPO Framingham Young Adults/Parents Support Group Tempo is a one-stop resource center for young adults with extra challenges. They focus on achievement, employment, schooling, healthy relationships, and practical skills to reach future goals.
