A SUMMARY OF THE STATE ASSESSMENTS
High School graduation is dependent on State Assessments which have been phased in over the past several years. Regents Examinations in English, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science are required for all students entering high school. Students must take and pass with a score of 65 or better on the Comprehensive English, Mathematics, Global History; U.S. History; and Science Regents. Further details on these requirements are given on the following pages and are subject to change pending New York State Board of Regents approval.


GRADE-LEVEL PLACEMENT

Students will be assigned to a grade level on the basis of earned units:
Grade Minimum Academic units earned:

10th Grade: 5
11th Grade: 10
12th Grade: 15


COURSE/UNIT REQUIREMENTS
Students in Grades 9, 10, and 11 must take a minimum of seven units (7) of coursework per year plus physical education. Students in Grade 12 must take a minimum of six and one-half units (6 1/2) of coursework plus physical education. It is expected that all students will avail themselves of a program which carries a maximum number of units.
