Measure A on November Ballot
Clovis Unified’s Measure A is on the ballot this November. Measure A is a facility bond measure that maintains a stable tax rate and would provide for: 
  • Safety, energy efficiency and technology upgrades for ALL schools.
  • Modernization and repairs to aging schools.
  • Completion of our new high school to ease overcrowding.

Laptop Devices, Requirements & Software

CUSD Bundles ** PURCHASE IS NOT REQUIRED **

All CUSD Bundles purchased through www.laptopschools.com come with a 3.5 year bumper-to-bumper warranty which includes Accidental Damage Protection. They currently have two models available to ship right away. These machines may be serviced through the CUSD Technology Service Center at 1670 David E. Cook Way, where loaners are normally available while your machine is being repaired. Please visit their website, email [email protected] or call them at 562-645-3817.

Requirements & Recommendations

Note: Due to the current situation locally and around the world, the supply of devices is limited and this will affect the delivery of the devices.
 

Device Requirements for use with District curriculum:

Built-in Wireless: 802.11ac  (if not 802.11ac, 802.11 a/g/n)

Built-in camera

 

Touchscreen - is it required?  No, it is not required, but it is HIGHLY recommended that all devices be touchscreen.

Recommended Options:

Limitations:

 Chromebooks and Apple devices will not be able to print while connected to the District network.  These two types of devices are blocked from printing while on the District's network.  They should print fine elsewhere.

Equipment that WILL NOT WORK - please do not purchase for use with District curriculum:

Kindle, Nook, Android tablets, iPods, etc. do not meet the requirements needed.

The District has partnered with Lenovo and LaptopSchools.com for many years to offer a “Laptop Bundle” for incoming 7th and 8th grade families as an option for the Laptop Program at Intermediate school sites.  These bundles are available for families for students enrolled at any grade level with the District.  The benefit of this partnership is that devices purchased through LaptopSchools.com come with a 3 year “Accidental Damage Protection” warranty and service from the CUSD Technology Service Center on David E. Cook Way in Clovis.  You can visit this website to view what models are available and when new models might be arriving.  


Internet at Home:

  • We highly recommend that students have access to internet at home in order to continue their learning experience after school hours
  • Low cost internet may be available for families who qualify: 


Anti-Virus Information 
 It is very important that you have anti-virus protection on your computer.
 If you have Windows 10: Your laptop came pre-installed with Windows Defender.

Free Microsoft Office

FREE copies of the latest version of the Microsoft Office suite are available to current CUSD students! To help provide students with the tools they need to be successful, Clovis Unified is offering the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote, Outlook, and more) to all students, free of charge.

To begin installation, go to portal.office.com and login using your account (the username you use to login to a school computer, followed by @clovisusd.k12.ca.us). Your password will be the same one that you use to login to school computers. Once logged in, follow the instructions to download and install the software. Once you have accepted the License Agreement, your software will become active.
