Over the course of the school year, you will receive 11 issues of CUSD Today, Clovis Unified School District’s good news publication designed  to unify the CUSD community. The newspaper highlights the achievements  of Clovis Unified students and staff; profiles new and updated Governing  Board policies; and shares general news and information happening  within the District. CUSD Today’s circulation is 33,000.

Throughout  the course of the school year, we frequently receive questions about  our publications, and I’d like to take this space to answer those that  are most frequently asked.

Do my tax dollars pay for CUSD Today?

Do my tax dollars pay for CUSD Today?

The answer is absolutely not; it is entirely paid for by our advertisers, for whose support we are very grateful. Not one cent from Clovis Unified’s General Fund is used to cover any cost associated with CUSD Today, which includes paying for the design, printing, labeling, mailing, freelance writing and photography, and the salaries of the two CUSD staff members who produce the newspaper each month.

How can I submit an article or an article idea?

How can I submit an article or an article idea?

Your written articles and article ideas are always welcomed. A system has been put in place in which each school principal designates a special “CUSD Today Site Coordinator.”

This person is responsible for sending information about newsworthy events happening at his/her school site to the Communications Office for publication in the paper. There is simply not enough room in the paper to print everything that happens during the course of the year, but every effort is made to cover all schools.

If you have information to submit for publication in CUSD Today, contact your school’s Site Coordinator who will want to hear from you the good news you want to share with our readers.

In submitting a story idea, we ask that you provide as much information as you can as well as some contact information and, when possible, a photo.
