The Department of Safety and Security is designed to ensure the safety of all students, staff and community members that visit any of our campuses. We staff School Resource Assistants (SRA) at all school buildings during the school days,as well as during after-school and extracurricular activities. The district also has two School Resource Officers (SRO) and a School Safety Officer (SSO) in cooperation with the Canton Police Department (CPD) and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO).  The department works closely with the Canton Police Department (CPD), Canton Fire Department (CFD) and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) in developing safety plans for all school buildings.  The Safety and Security Department is responsible for overseeing all alarms (burglar and fire), the Visitor Management System, scheduling and reviewing school safety drills, processing volunteer applications, all criminal background checks, the district Crisis Team, school crossing guards, and providing security for all school sponsored athletic events.

We are here to assist all students in being able to receive their education in a safe and comfortable environment.
