2024-2025 CTE Internship Application

Applications will be accepted through March 1st, 2024
- A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required.
- It's highly recommended that a student completes a minimum of 2 CTE courses in a related program area prior to internship.

9th and 10th grade students are not eligible for career internships

Acceptance and/or placement is not guaranteed

If a student starts an Internship but does not complete the required documentation and the required 120 hours, the student will receive a failing grade on their high school transcript

Grades are calculated based on the standard numeric grading scale
CTE INTERNSHIPS PROVIDE STUDENTS WITH AN OPPORTUNITY TO:
- explore career options of interest
- observe and engage with the world of work and develop necessary job skills for success
- apply knowledge and skills learned while further developing each within a specific career field
- learn workplace terminology, climate, and business/industry protocol specific for their CTE program area
- set and achieve individual goals and objectives for personal growth in the program area as well as job place
- earn elective credit outside the four walls of a classroom
WHAT AN EMPLOYER CAN DO FOR A STUDENT INTERN:
- Provide high school seniors an opportunity to engage with others in a true work environment where they can apply knowledge and skills they have learned throughout their program of study.
- Promote relationships between education and business
- Train young adults to become productive members of the future’s work force
- Give back to the community
WHAT A CTE STUDENT INTERN CAN DO FOR AN EMPLOYER:
- Utilize previously learned industry-specific knowledge and skills in the workplace environment
- Use both program-area specific technical skills and soft skills to enhance the productivity of the workplace.
- Take on special tasks and projects in order to learn and grow through their internship experience
- Provide an opportunity for the employer to train the future workforce pool
