Ms. Wilson

I have been involved in education for 25 years. I have taught 4th, 5th & 6th grades. I taught in Utah for 23 years, with my last year there being the distance ed. teacher for our 6th grade group. The year after, I took a job with Virtual Virginia teaching 5th graders from across the state of Virginia. Last year, I took a job as an every-day sub for a school in St. Louis, Missouri. I had the pleasure to work in every grade level and I learned a lot. I am currently the 5th grade math/science teacher for my class and for Mr. Crouch's students.

Everything is a learning experience, both good and bad that happen to you. You take what happens and learn from it. That's how I look at everything, the good and bad. You learn about it, and you improve. - Markelle Fultz

I don't know about y'all, but I have always learned much more from my setbacks than I ever have from my successes. There is more opportunity for growth from setbacks as well. Sure, I learn from and celebrate my successes, but I gain much more wisdom and experience from the setbacks. When my mom was deciding on a career, her mom (my grandmother) said this, and I'll never forget it. "Whatever is going on in the world, no matter where you are, there will always be a need for an educator." I also got into teaching to make sure kids get treated well. I was bullied real bad when I was in 4th grade and I believe that experience is part of why I became an educator.

I am very new to North Carolina and still have so much to explore! I do like downtown Lenoir a lot and I had a blast at Blackberry Days.

I enjoy... Nature. Quiet. Serenity. Peace. Oh, and fly fishing, hiking and cooking.
