Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Kimberly Morgan

I have taught high school math for the past 15 years with Caldwell County Schools. I've taught Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Math 1, Math 2, Advanced Functions and Modeling, Discrete Math, and AP Statistics.
While teaching math, I started to develop a passion for teaching and helping others grow their love of physical fitness. Taking classes and eventually teaching classes at Starsteps Dance Center also contributed to this passion.
Early in my career, I wanted to learn more about teaching fitness and got my group fitness certification. Then, in 2021, I moved more towards teaching in schools and received my Physical Education Certificate for grades k - 12. Also in 2021, I decided to venture out and received my 200 hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Asheville Yoga Center. This allowed me to offer a Yoga & Stress Management class at Hibriten High School.
Finally, I decided this year to change it up and go where my passion has led me to teach P.E. and Gamewell Elementary School!

"Most people do not listen with the intent to understand. Most people listen with the intent to reply.” -Stephen Covey
This also goes hand in hand with the following quote from the "Ted Lasso" series:
"Be curious, not judgmental"

After hearing and letting these quotes sink in, this hit home for me, not only in education but also in life. I started to become more curious as I communicated and listened to others. When I did not fully understand something that was said, I would ask more questions to get the full picture. This has allowed more open communication between myself and those I am talking with and has opened many doors that may have otherwise been closed.
By making sure to mindfully listen, and to be curious by asking questions makes a HUGE difference in the connections I build with my students.

I have a love of learning and truly enjoy sharing this passion with my students. When I was in high school, I found myself able perform exceptionally well when explaining concepts to my fellow classmates to help them be successful in their classes. It also made me joyful to help those around me have those "lightbulb" moments when they finally understood a concept. My love of learning combined with my ability to explain concepts well made me want to pursue a career in education.

One of my favorite spots in Caldwell County is the Mulberry Recreation Center's Pickleball courts. There, we have a community of people built around supporting one another and just having a good time playing a strategic game!

I love spending time with my husband and my two little tailwaggers. I also enjoy working out, dancing, hiking, and playing pickleball.
