My name is Laura Parnell. I am the school counselor for students in grades 10-12, last names G-O. 

I'm a native of Caldwell County and attended Appalachian State for my undergraduate degree. I received a degree in Communication Disorders (B.S.) and received a Master of Arts in Agency Counseling with School Licensure from Lenoir Rhyne University. I have worked as a exceptional children's teacher and as a school counselor at all levels. I am certified through the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards and hold an advanced degree in School Counseling from UNC-Greensboro. 

I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals and strive to support my students in all areas of their development: academic, socio-emotional, and career.
