Hello! My name is Shana Stewart and I am so excited that I will be teaching 6th grade math this year. 

I am a native of Caldwell County.  After graduating from West Caldwell High School in 1992, I continued my education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Lenoir Rhyne University.  Then, in 2008, I earned a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education from Appalachian State University.  The 2022-2023 academic school year marks my 15th year teaching at WLMS. 

I am the proud mother of two daughters. My oldest, Aja, is a graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill and is currently living in Seoul in South Korea, where she teaches English.  My youngest, Aiden, is a 10th grader at Caldwell Early College High School.  My husband, Christopher Stewart, is an EC Instructional Assistant at William Lenoir. 

When not at school, I am busy working with my church, New Covenant United Methodist Church. I also enjoy spending time with my husband Christopher, my children, and my extended family.
