I am a graduate of Appalachian State University with a Bachelors Degree in English Education and a Masters Degree in School Counseling.  I have been an educator since 1989, and have worked in all levels of school settings.  I have enjoyed working with elementary, middle, and high school students; however, I have been a school counselor for elementary students at Granite Falls for most of my career as an educator.  I enjoy working with children, and believe that GFES is a wonderful place to work and learn.  My hobbies are hiking, going to college musical concerts (especially ones my twin daughters play in), and visiting historical places.  I believe that one of my greatest callings is to empower children to believe in themselves.
