• Dear Parents:

Caldwell Council on Adolescent Health has been contracted through a Title-V Grant to provide lessons aligned to the North Carolina Public Instruction Healthful Living Standards. Fourth & Fifth graders will be able to attend one-two class periods during this school year titled, “Always Changing.” This program was designed for use by school nurses, classroom teachers, and other educators who have the responsibility of teaching fourth & fifth grade aligned to growth and development at puberty for both males and females. This program will provide your child with a review of facts about puberty, the reproductive system, and will introduce media as a social influence in their lives. The objectives that will be covered, are available below.

We will be encouraging your child to turn to you for further information and guidance. Parents are welcome to attend the class or to review the materials.  Please contact the school for details.  If you do not want your child to participate, please notify the school in writing by returning the letter sent home. The school will provide alternate instructional activities on that date.  If you have further questions, please call the Caldwell Council on Adolescent Health at 828-757-9020.
