Sadlier-Oxford: This link takes you to a website that has activities that deal with vowel sounds, blends, high frequency words, etc., for 1st grade (as well as other grade levels). ***

Funbrain: This site contains many wonderful online activities to help with math skills (multi-grades). ****
Addition and Subtraction: This website is a fun way to practice addition and subtraction facts. If you have older children, they can practice multiplication and division. ***
Cyber Challenge: This is a very fun, fast paced site. You can take a timed addition or subtraction quiz. ****
A+ Math: This website features a math gameroom, math word find puzzles, timed facts tests. ***
321 Math: This website has activities for every area of study in 1st grade math, for example, place value, money, time, adding, subtracting, etc. ****
Internet 4 Classrooms: This site offers many fun activities in all areas of study in 1st grade math. For example, there are 16 different activities that deal with money. ****
Skip Counting by 2's, 5's, and 10's: This site offers some practice skip counting by hunting ghosts. ***
Counting money: Kids can play simple money games on this site. ****

Coloring Pages: If you have a child who likes to color, this is the site for you. There are many wonderful categories of coloring sheets from animals to cartoon characters. ****Primary Games: This is a great site. It has educational activities, as well as an arcade, print zone, post card maker, etc. ****
PBS.org: On this website you will find games, stories, music, and coloring activities for all of the PBS children's shows. ****
Scholastic/kids: This site contains great online games that are based on certain children's books. ***
Scholastic/parents: This site contains very helpful information for parents if they have concerns about their child and reading. Articles are focused on pre-school aged to upper grade children. ***
Surfnetkids: This site contains many educational links for art, S.S., Science, Math, Reading, parents, preschool, etc. ****
Fun School: This site contains wonderful, educational, arcade-type games for grades Pre-K to 6th. You can also access other educational websites, Zeeks (upper grade) and Kaboose (families). ****
Yahooligans: This is the educational site sponsered by Yahoo. This is great for finding whatever your child needs or is interested in. ****

Asheboro Zoo: Visit this site to become familiar with the Zoo. We will be going here on a field trip in May. ****
K Bears: Fun, interactive website where children can learn about animals, dinosaurs, oceans, physics, etc. **Cool Science: On this site, you can learn about eating healthy, why monkeys are like moose, how butterflies and catepillars are connected, etc. ***
Healthy Choices: This site has nutrition activitites and making healthy choices. ***
National Geographic for Kids: Who doesn't like National Geographic? This is an excellent website with activities and games about animals, etc. It also has a section just for parents. ****
Creature Feature: This is also part of the National Geographic website. This site allows kids to get to know certain animals. It contains facts, photos, videos, etc. ****
School Menu: This site contains fun activities that deal with nutrition, the food pyramid, etc. ***
National Zoo: Great site to see what the National Zoo in Washington D.C. is like. ***
Electronic Zoo: See what life is like in a zoo. ***
Magic School Bus: Go on adventures and learn amazing things on the Magic School Bus. ****Internet 4 Classrooms: This site offers wonderful activities in all areas of the 1st grade Science curriculum. ****
PBS Science: This site, "Zoom", is part of the PBS site. It is wonderful!!! There are many science activities as well as printables. ****

White House: This is a great website that shows an inside view of the White House. There are links to games, White House history, White House pets, etc. Kids can "meet" the President, First Lady, and the Vice President. ****
Social Studies for Kids: This is a very informative website. It may be a little too "old" for 1st graders to view by themselves. ***
Virtual Field trip: This National Geographic site allows children to go on "field trips" to places around the world, etc. ****
Internet 4 Classrooms: This site offers many activities that go hand-in-hand with the 1s grade Social Studies curriculum. ****
