I am incredibly thankful and honored to be a part of West Caldwell High School. I have been in education for several years and look forward to a great school year as a Warrior! I attended the University of Georgia, the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and most recently, Liberty University, where I received my Doctorate in Educational Leadership. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family and learning new things. I am blessed to have the opportunity to be part of the Caldwell community.

Susan Walker, Assistant Principal

I began my teaching career in education in 1996 at Gamewell Elementary School as a second grade teacher.  During the twelve years at Gamewell, I taught kindergarten and second grade and served as Curriculum Coach for all grade levels.  From 2008-2021, I worked in the Title I Department at the Education Center supporting professional development and school improvement.  During the 2021-2022 school year, I was an assistant principal at South Caldwell High School. Last year, I moved to Lower Creek Elementary School as the assistant principal.

After graduating from John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia, I attended Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, where I earned an Associate of Applied Sciences degree (1984) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (magna cum laude, 1986).  After Marshall, I attended Washington and Lee University School of Law before transferring to Campbell University School of Law in Buies Creek, North Carolina.  I earned a Juris Doctorate, cum laude, in 1989. I worked in several small legal firms in eastern North Carolina before completing elementary licensure courses in 1995 at Elizabeth City University.  I earned a Master of School Administration from Appalachian State University in 2006 and have completed additional post-graduate courses at Western Carolina University.

I am looking forward to being back in the West Caldwell community where I started and seeing students engaged in learning as they prepare for work and further education.
