I am a Caldwell County native. I graduated from West Caldwell. I went to Wilkes Community College on a wrestling scholarship. Then I transferred to Appalachian State University, where I graduated with a B.S. in Health & Physical Education; minored in Psychology. After teaching several years in Caldwell County ( Whitnel, Hudson, Sawmills, Gamewell Elementary and Hibriten), I transferred and taught at Northeast Sr HS in Greensboro as an IBS self-contained classroom and coached wrestling. At Forbush HS,in Yadkin County, I was the Transitional Coordinator for Yadkin County Schools EC department, as well as coaching football, wrestling and track.I taught at West Columbus HS as the PE teacher and coached football and track. I taught in Catawba County (Bandy's- Head Wrestling Coach and Catawba Elementary). I taught at East Carteret HS as an Instructional Technology Specialist, as well as being the Head JV football and Head Wrestling coach. Then I transferred to Laney HS as the Head Wrestling Coach and taught at Holly Shelter MS as an Instructional Technology Specialist and was the head football coach. I taught at Southwest Onslow Middle School as 6th grade Science teacher and Head Wrestling and football.I transferred to Hickory HS as the Head JV Defensive Coordinator and Head Wrestling Coach.Then I transferred to Central Wilkes MS in Wilkes County as the 6th/8th grade Social Studies, Head Football and Head Wrestling Coach. I worked in Wake County at Altson Ridge Middle School as the CTE: Mindcraft Coding. Then I moved back to Caldwell County in spring 2023, to be close to my dad and family.

I have coached football, soccer, track, baseball and wrestling for 33 years. This will be my 26th year teaching.

I was an instructor at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute for 4 years. I taught Health and Wellness, Physical Education- team sports, Orientation and was a Smart Start speaker. I was also the Head Basketball Coach for 1 year.

I started Correll Athletics, Inc., a youth non-profit athletic organization that served the Gamewell and Collettsville areas. We offered K-6 football, cheerleading, soccer and wrestling.First year in football we went 1-9 for K-2, 0-10 3rd/4th and 0-10 5th/6th. The second year of football we went 20-0 K-2; 3rd/4th 20-0 and 5th/6th 19-1. Total wins were 59 and 1 loss, winning both conferences that year, 2006-2007 ( Caldwell County League and Blue Ridge Mtn League).

I have 2 kids, my son lives in Wilmington and my daughter lives in Galtlingburg with my 2 grandkids.
