I am excited to return to Cabarrus County Schools where I worked as a school psychologist in the early 2000’s, where I’ve resided since 1999, where my children have gone to school, and where I had my private practice, Murray Child Psychological Services, Inc., until just a few years ago. I don’t think there’s a better place to live, raise children, send children to school, or work! I am originally from upstate New York in the capital region where the Mohawk and Hudson rivers meet in a small town named Waterford. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree with a double major in Psychology and Human Services from the State University of New York at Buffalo. After graduation, I worked in a community residence with mentally ill adults. I then pursued graduate studies at Winthrop University where I received my Master of Science and Specialist degrees in School Psychology, completing internships in traditional K-12 school settings and in a psychiatric inpatient setting for adolescents and adults. Upon graduation, I was employed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, The School at Thompson Children’s Home, and Cabarrus County Schools before opening Murray Child Psychological Services, Inc. where I continued to provide contractual psychological assessment and consultation services to local public school districts, charter schools, and private schools in addition to providing psychological evaluations for private clients. On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Chris, for 25 years, and we have two children: Madeline (18) and Alex (22). In my time away from school and work, I enjoy quiet time at home, traveling, supporting our family’s motorsports racing endeavors, and my new role as a mom of a University of Tennessee student. Go Vols!
