Cabarrus Virtual Academy does not participate in interscholastic athletics.School attendance is not required. However, students will be expected to access the courses regularly and maintain a satisfactory pace towards successful completion. This will be monitored by school administration. Additionally, students who are enrolled in courses that require a final exam, such as an AP exam, End of Grade exam(3-8), or End of Course exam (9-12), will need to take the final exam at The Cabarrus Virtual Academy (4511 Weddington Rd.) at the end of each semester for High School and at the end of the Year for Midlde and Elementary School.Students must enroll as a student at the Cabarrus Virtual Academy and maintain enrollment and progress in two online courses per semester for High School, two yearlong core content courses for Elementary and Middle while maintaining enrollment in their home school.Students that attend the Cabarrus Virtual Academy have access to limited clubs throughout the year. Band is not offered.Any senior that completes CCS graduation requirements and desires to graduate from the Cabarrus Virtual Academy will be allowed to participate in all graduation celebrations.Yes. Starting in 2021, middle school students are welcome to enroll in course offerings at grade level and in advanced courses for High School credit.Yes. Starting in 2021, elementary students in grades 3-5 are welcome to enroll in course offeringsPreferred enrollment is at the beginning of the academic school year, but we will review enrollments in HomeReach throughout the school year.Interested families will complete an application identifying their child's current level of course work and courses they are interested in accessing online.The Cabarrus Virtual Academy is located at 4511 Weddington Road Concord, NC 28027. Furthermore, it is expected that interested families have systems in place to ensure student support and success in completing the course requirements.Yes. Students have the choice to graduate from their home school program or Cabarrus County Schools. Students choosing to graduate from Cabarrus County Schools must meet local and state graduation requirements.Yes. The curriculum used for HomeReach is fully online.You may either use your own device or we will supply a CCS Chromebook to you.HomeReach students will have a variety of curriculum choices ranging from core subjects to electives. It is expected that students entering this program have the necessary support in place to advance successfully through an online curriculum. However, teachers at the Cabarrus Virtual Academy will be available by appointment to support students as needed.
