Mrs. Ashley Short, Principal

I joined Cabarrus County Schools as a teacher at Concord Middle School in 2006. I also worked at Mount Pleasant Middle School as a teacher before moving to Central Cabarrus High School as the instructional technology facilitator in 2012. I joined the administrative team at C.C. Griffin Middle School in 2017 as an Assistant Principal and then joined the administrative team at Central Cabarrus High School. I earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master’s degree from East Carolina University. My passion is curriculum and instruction and technology integration.
I look forward to working with CVA students, parents, and staff!
Mrs. Jennifer Herriman, Assistant Principal

Mrs. Herriman is our Assistant Principal. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in Secondary Education from St. Joseph’s College and a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Dowling College. Most recently, she is a graduate of the School Executive Leadership Academy (SELA) Program at Queens University of Charlotte.
Mrs. Herriman moved to Charlotte from Long Island, New York in 2005 with her husband and two children. Her hobbies include reading, visiting parks and museums, and she enjoys spending time with her family. Before coming to Cabarrus County Schools, Mrs. Herriman worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a middle school ELA Teacher, a high school English Teacher, Instructional Coach, and Instructional Accountability Facilitator at the alternative school.
Mrs. Herriman believes, “Together we will overcome challenges. We will strive for success and achieve it!”
