      WELCOME TO THE BRIGHTON RUNNER'S WEBSITE. Brighton is a member of the Monroe County Athletic Association, Section V, and the New York State Public High School Athletic Association.  Brighton is required to follow the rules and regulations set forth by these governing bodies pertaining to the interscholastic sports programs. This site is intended to help the coaches, athletes and parents of both Track and Field and Cross Country runners.

    Varsity

    BRIAN MATTHEWS: Head Cross Country coach, Assistant Track Coach (middle distance, distance)

    Brian comes to Brighton from Boulder, CO where he has been a head cross country and track & field coach for the last several years as well as a club running coach. He is a graduate of Pittsford Sutherland HS and Washington College in MD, and did his graduate work at Colorado State University.  He is currently teaching Spanish at Pittsford Mendon High School and is still an active competitive runner.  His coaching specialties are distance and middle distance.     SHANNON TIMES: Head Indoor/Outdoor track coach, Assistant Cross Country Coach

    Coach Shannon Times is a Rochester native and proud Brighton High School graduate and former BHS Varsity Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field athlete (2001-2004).  She has raced in the 100m hurdles and 4X100m relay, as well as throwing the discus and shot put, doing the high jump and pentathlon, and competing on four sectional winning teams and participating in the 2004 NYS Public High School Indoor Track and Field Championships. Coach Times received her bachelors & masters from Hobart & William Smith Colleges and is currently a teacher at Twelve Corners Middle School.  She is an assistant Cross Country coach and the head coach of the V/JV Indoor & Outdoor Track & Field programs at Brighton.  Coach Times also enjoys running/working out, traveling, and spending time with her family.     MIKE BRADLEY: Assistant Cross Country & Track Coach (middle distance, distance) 

     

    CRAIG DENNISON: Assistant Track Coach (Jumps)

    Coach Craig Dennison grew up in Rochester and was a competitive swimmer through high school and college.  While in college, he started to run for cross training and to improve overall conditioning.  Years later, this swimming and running background led him to participate in triathlons.  These days, he endeavors to stay in shape playing basketball, working out and keeping up with his very active baby and toddler! He also likes to get outside to fly fish. Coach Dennison presently teaches Spanish at Twelve Corners Middle School.  He also coaches modified boys volleyball in the Fall.  It is a privilege to coach our wonderful student athletes at Brighton.  Athletics are a great venue to promote character, goal setting, teamwork, healthy habits and  friendly competition.  He especially likes to work with the jumpers on our track program.  There is nothing better than watching an athlete improve each season in their events.  Contact at craig_dennison@bcsd.org
