Mrs. Delya A. Russell

Delya Russell works at the Center for New Opportunities (CNO) as a second year teacher and teaches 7th through 12th grade history, health and art. In her spare time she volunteers in the community, mentors the youth, and serves as a member of the Praise and Worship team at her local church.
Mrs. Russell was born in Little Rock, AR. She graduated high school from the historical Little Rock Central High School, where students known as the Little Rock Nine attended during the desegration of schools for the Civil Rights Movement. She has an Associate's of Psychology degree and Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Management from Waldorf University in Forest City, Iowa and a Master's degree in Counseling Education from William Carey University in Biloxi, MS.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast has been home to her and her family for over 12 years now. She and her husband fell in love with the coast for its beauty and the true friends that are now like family they have been blessed to meet. As a hobby, Mrs. Russell loves to sing. She has been honored to be featured on the 100th Centennial Celebration of Duke Ellington's "Going Home" album, singing a duet with the late great Otis Clay. She is also a member of the Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. Zeta Beta Sigma Alumnae Chapter here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. "I look forward to teaching and helping your child thrive not only in school, but also in life."

Mrs. Russell absolutely loves her family: Jack (Husband and Assistant Principal of Biloxi Junior High), Deyauni, Justin, Jordan, Morgan and her grand-dog, Tux.
