    What does our library offer?

    The La Sierra High School library serves students, teachers, and parents of the Alvord Unified School District in Riverside, CA.  La Sierra High School is a diverse school with over 1600 students.  Our goal is to provide resources and tools for students to become college and career ready as well as 21st century learners.

    Students can visit the library at any time before school, during lunch, or after school.  Students MUST have a pass from their teacher to use the library during a class period - NO EXCEPTIONS.  Students may check out books or use the computers any time the library is open.  Please no food or drinks in the library!

    Circulation Information
    Students may check out up to 4 books at a time for a period of 3 weeks.  Students may renew books for another 3 weeks as long as there are no current holds on the item.  Be sure to renew or check in books by the due date to ensure you are current on your library materials and allow other students to have access to the titles.  

    Materials
    The library currently has over 17,000 print books and reference materials as well as 400 ebooks including both fiction and nonfiction.  The library catalog is Destiny Quest and can be accessed anywhere.  We are also in the process of receiving EBSCO library databases which will assist students in research for class projects and papers.  All electronic resources (databases and ebooks) are available on campus and off campus 24/7.  

    Computers & Printing
    The computer lab contains 38 PC desktops which includes Microsoft Office as well as Google Chrome.  Students may use the computers before school, at lunch, or after school.  There are 2 B&W printers in the library which students may use to print out school work ONLY.  The library also houses 40 laptops that are used for classes working in the library - the laptops may not be checked out by individual students.
