Mr. Craig Rozdilsky

Welcome to Foothill Counselor's Corner!

Two years ago (2014-2015 school year) saw an Alvord USD first, school counselors at ALL levels of education.  The very next year saw an expansion of the Elementary Counselor Program with one full time counselor for each elementary school.  This year we are pleased to welcome a new member to the Foothill Falcon family, enter our very own Mr. Craig Rozdilsky, or Mr. Roz as all the students and staff know him.

Mr. Roz was one of the first counselors hired to start the Elementary Counseling Program and came to Alvord from the Anaheim City School District where he worked as one of three counselors in the Educationally Related Mental Health Services department.  He also brings clinical knowledge from his many years of Marriage and Family Therapy schooling and experience.

Mr. Roz works closely with the team of elementary counselors who together are developing a comprehensive system from the ground up so that all students, regardless of which elementary school they attend, will be exposed to the same social, emotional, and behavioral teachings and lessons across the district.

The services now provided are:  Classroom presentations, individual, small group and classroom counseling, crisis counseling, parent and teacher consultations, referrals for outside services and community resources

Our school counselor is here to help students with: keeping and making friends, setting goals for academic success, working with others, self esteem, adjusting to a new school, managing feelings and behavior, dealing with peer pressure and bullying

Our school counselor is here to help parents with:  exploring ways to help your student succeed in academic, career, personal and social development; improving parent-child communications; and providing referrals for cummunity resources

Mr. Roz is a strong advocate for anti-bullying programs and positive character trait instruction and is constantly working to make our school a safe and mentally healthy place for our students to thrive and reach their unlimited potential.  Using such activities as a school wide anti-bully poster contest, character building tickets (Caught Soaring tickets) and class lessons on verbal bullying, accepting the difference in others, empathy, emotional management and problem solving utilizing the Second Step program, Mr. Roz hopes to build a positive supportive school culture that eventually sees students teaching and influencing peers in a positive rather than negative way.

Since this is just the beginning for Mr. Roz here at Foothill you can be sure to see much more to come as our counseling program builds a strong foundation and continues to add and implement new ideas, lessons and strategies to work with our student population.

If you see Mr. Roz, or one of his many aliases, be sure to say HI!  He is not hard to spot, just hard to keep in one spot for long since he is always rushing off to work with another student, class, teacher or parent.  If you can not catch up with him he can be reached by calling the front office to be forwarded to his office line.  Please leave a message if he does not answer.  Calls are usually returned after school in order to avoid interruption and 2 schools days.  You can also contact him through district email if you just have a quick message or question.
