Welcome/Bienvenido/Bienvenue/Herzlich Willkommen to Hillcrest Girls Soccer
First, I would like to say thank you for taking interest in joining the Hillcrest High School Girls Soccer Team. My name is Jose Diaz, head coach for the girls soccer team. At Hillcrest we strive to to focus on the whole student: academic, character, and soccer player. As team and soccer family, we hold eachother accountable and to very high standard. We understand that we need each other to be successful therefore we strive to make sure our girls/temmates are eligible not only during season but all year academically. If just one player doesn't make grades it impacts our team that year and the years that follow. As a family and team we represent Hillcrest with our best foot forward, hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.
Hillcrest offers two levels of competition, both varsity and junior varsity. While it is our desire to have both sides competitive always, the ultimate goal of our junior varsity squad is to get girls playing, learning, and growing into players that will one day grace the varsity squad and represent Hillcrest at the highest level. To give anything less than your best is to sacrifice the gift is a philosophy we strongly believe in and adhere to at Hillcrest and look to instill it in our players both on the field and in life.
Our varsity team competes in the River Valley League in the CIF Southern Section. In 2021, our girls varsity team went 8-1-1 in league finishing in first place and capturing it's first league title in school history. We qualified for CIF for a sixth consective year. The girls were knocked out in the second round 4-3 against the team that won CIF for division five. For the past six years our girls have improved each and every year. Are you the player that can help take this team to the next level?
If you are ready to accept challanges and look forward to growing as a player and person, welcome to our Hillcrest Girls Soccer Family! Contact Coach Diaz with your questions. As always, GO TROJANS!
