Task 1: Students will read and annotate Angus Deming’s speech The Remembered War: A Korean War Vet Offers a History Lesson and then write the two eight sentence paragraphs as follows:

• In paragraph one, identify and discuss two negative aspects of the Korean War.
• In paragraph two, discuss two positive aspects of the Korean War.
• Be sure to use specific evidence from the text to support each of your arguments.
