There are three different choir programs at Triway High School, Concert Choir, Symphonic Choir and "Downstage" Show Choir.
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is open to anyone in grades 9-12. No audition is needed to be a member of this choir. Concert Choir performs at the Holiday Concert and Spring Concert/Awards Night.
Symphonic Choir
Auditions are held for students in grades 10-12 to be a member of the Symphonic Choir. This Choir performs at the Holiday Concert, Festival of Choirs, District OMEA Contest, State OMEA Contest and the Spring Concert/Awards Night.
"Downstage" Show Choir
Auditions are held in the spring for next year's group. "Downstage" consists of approximately 20 singers, plus 2-3 instrumental people. The group does around 15-20 shows a year. Most shows are done in December. A few shows are performed in April and May.
"Downstage" rehearses on Monday evenings 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. and Thursday mornings 7:00 - 7:45 a.m., if needed. "Downstage" has a mini camp in the summer for 4-6 hours a day to learn the music and choreography.
Student transportation fee is collected as well as costume costs. (Dress, tux shirt, etc.).
All-Ohio State Choir
Taped auditions are sent to the All-State Choir committee and selections made. Triway has had as many as four musicians in one year participate in this choir of over 100 voices. They perform a concert, with a guest director, at the OMEA Music Conference held in a major cities in Ohio.
All-Ohio State Fair Chorus
Applications are sent to choir directors over the state. A student fills it out and waits for notification of acceptance. The chorus performs several times a day during the 17-day run of the State Fair.
