Inclusionary Practices
To improve educational success for our students with disabilities, we have made it a district wide initiative to provide inclusive education for all students to the greatest extent possible. Research supports the benefits of educating students with disabilities alongside their non-disabled peers. We have implemented specific steps, practices, & resource materials to make inclusive education a reality in Toppenish!
Toppenish School District was selected as an University of Washington Haring Center Inclusionary Practices Project Demonstration Site in Spring 2020. In collaboration with the UW, Toppenish School District continues to highlight the following inclusionary practices:
- Inclusive Mission and Vision
- Differentiated Curriculum Planning and Instruction
- Collaboration
