FREE LUNCHES AVAILABLE THIS SUMMER FOR ALL KIDS & TEENS!
Weekdays (Monday through Friday) this summer, free lunches will be available for your kids, their siblings, cousins and friends (ages 1 to 18) without paperwork, income verification, and regardless of immigration status. No ID or sign-up necessary. Adult lunches are $4.00 each.
To receive a meal:
Drop in between 11:30 am and 12:15pm
at Sunset Empire Park & Recreation District,
located at 1120 Broadway St., Suite 100.
Meals will be served Monday June 24, 2024 through Friday August 23, 2024, with the exception of July 4th (no meals served on the Fourth of July).
Meals will be served all over the state and across the country.

Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer (SEBT) Program
As the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS) and ODE announced earlier this month, the Summer Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is a new grocery benefits program that starts this summer. It helps families buy food for their school-aged children during the summer when school is out. Families will get $120 for each eligible child. They will receive the benefits in one payment on an Oregon EBT card.
Families that have SNAP, TANF, OHP, Medicaid, or are in foster or resource care through Child Welfare don’t need to apply. Summer EBT food benefits will be added to their Oregon EBT card automatically. Families will get a letter for each eligible child by mail or email when their benefits have been sent.
Families that do not have SNAP, TANF, OHP, Medicaid, or are not in foster or resource care through Child Welfare and may be eligible will need to apply. Children are likely to qualify if they live in households that meet income requirements for those programs. Families can go to sebt.oregon.gov(English) or ebtv.oregon.gov (Spanish) to check if their child may be eligible. They can also sign up to get a notification by text or email when it’s time to fill out and submit the application.
Please note that Seaside School District students are NOT automatically signed up for Summer EBT benefits. This is because we are a Community Eligible Provision (CEP) school.

FREE MEALS FOR ALL STUDENTS
Seaside School District is proud to announce that ALL students attending Seaside School District schools will receive TWO FREE meals each school day, regardless of income. We participate in the federal program called Provision 2 Special Assistance Program available to schools as part of the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program.
Provision 2 operates on a four year cycle. The first year, or base year, sets federal and state meal program reimbursement based on the percentages of free, reduced, and paid meals served during 2022-23. Child Nutrition Services will not make any new free or reduced-price meal eligibility determinations in subsequent cycle years. As a result, households experience a reduction in burden as families will not be asked to complete a Free & Reduced Meal Application in non-base years.
This does not, however, make families in our District eligible for discounted utilities, internet, and other programs that require a Free and Reduced Meal determination letter. If you are interested in qualifying, please fill out the Family Income Survey Form, and we can help you obtain the necessary documents.
