Beginning/Intermediate Band

This class is for Beginners-1 year of experience of playing an instrument. We work out of the Accent on Achievement Method Book and supplement with various pieces of sheet music as students progress in the method book. Intermediate Band performs 2-3 times per trimester for school events, evening concerts, and community outreach. *One year of Intermediate Band is a pre-requisite for Advanced Band*

Advanced Band

This class is for students who have taken one year of Intermediate Band and/or have 2 or more years of experience of playing an instrument. Advanced Band performs 2-3 times per trimester for school events, evening concerts, and community outreach. Advanced Band offers several extra curricular and enriching opportunities including - Sonoma County Middle School Jumpstart in Music Retreat to Cazadero Music Camp in the Fall, Sonoma County Honor Band with performance at Sonoma State University's Green Music Center, and Spring Music in the Parks Festival of Music.

Choir

This class is for students of all abilities that are willing and excited to sing. Students will learn to read music and explore different music from various cultures, languages and styles. Choir performs 2-3 times per trimester for school events, evening concerts, and community outreach.The Choir also participates in the Spring Music in the Parks Festival of Music in addition to collaborating with the Drama class for the Spring Musical.

Drama

This class is for students of all abilities that are looking to gain experience speaking and acting on stage. The Drama class explores scripts, styles, characters, costume/set design, and advertising in addition to providing necessary steps to successfully perform a memorized monologue/scripts. Drama performs a least once a trimester for both in- school performances and evening performances for friends and families. Drama collaborates with other performing arts classes for the Spring Musical each year.
